Potential Applications of the Big Five Traits in Student Modeling

چکیده

In this research initialization of the student model in a Socially Intelligent Tutoring System (SITS) by means of the Five-Factor Model of personality (Big Five) is considered. Where applicable, using the Five-Factor Model inventory provides for “getting to know the stranger (student)”. The student model this paper is based on is the one described by Heylen et al. While part of the student model can be initialized this way, some aspects can not. Some limitations also exist with regard to predicting behavior of the student.
